1. Overview

Are you or somebody close to you looking for some high-end shopping, fantastic dining, relaxing spa treatments, and maybe even a couple of rounds of championship golf? Do you want to have it all in one location, perhaps even one resort? Does it need to be 5-star?

The answer is Las Vegas. Or specifically, the answer is Wynn Las Vegas. Think about a couples’ massage in front of a roaring fire, private dining experiences for your travel pod, and then again, what about having more boutiques than Rodeo Drive located an elevator away?

Of course, a key question is: with the continuing pandemic, how is the experience?

The short answer seems to be five stars!

While 2020 will be remembered as perhaps the most challenging year ever for the travel industry, at the top end, there was still a focus on maintaining quality.

Witness Wynn Resorts maintained all 22 of its Forbes Travel Guide (FTG) Five-Star awards for 2021. In addition to holding the most FTG Five-Star awards of any independent hotel company, Wynn Las Vegas, Encore Las Vegas, and Wynn Palace in Macau remain the three largest FTG Five-Star resorts in the world for the second consecutive year.

Read: Top Suites at Wynn Las Vegas

The shelves added seven FTG Five-Star awards collectively. Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas hold the most Forbes Five-Star awards of any resort in North America, achieving this for the second consecutive year.

• Wynn Las Vegas (Five-Star)
• Encore Las Vegas (Five-Star)
• Wynn Tower Suites (Five-Star)
• Encore Tower Suites (Five-Star)
• The Spa at Wynn (Five-Star)
• The Spa at Encore (Five-Star)
• Wing Lei (Five-Star)

Perhaps all the awards are in part because of the way Wynn treats its team members. Last month, it was again honored on FORTUNE Magazine’s 2021 World’s Most Admired Companies list in the hotel, casino, and resort category.

Wynn Resorts improved upon previous ratings to secure a place in the top five international hotel companies. The company also claimed first overall in the group for Quality of Products/Services and received additional high marks for Innovation.

On the health-safety front, Wynn Las Vegas, Wynn Macau, Wynn Palace, and Encore Boston Harbor have become Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED with Forbes Travel Guide. This verification covers more than 360 standards across health and hygiene protocols to ensure that consistent and robust health & safety procedures are in place.

If you want a one-stop vacation, Wynn Las Vegas offers 194,000 square feet of casino space, 22 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 560,000 rentable sq. ft. of meeting and convention space, 160,000 sq. ft. of retail space, as well as two showrooms, two nightclubs, a beach club, and recreation and leisure facilities.

2. Spa

Two spas are better than one. And whether you stay at the Wynn or Encore, you’ll only be an elevator away.

The Spa at Wynn

Located within Wynn tower, The Spa at Wynn has been completely reimagined with a contemporary new aesthetic. The new design concept and color palette evoke the serenity of nightfall to relax the mind and body.

4. Dining

There are many outdoor and private dining options. Best of all, if you are planning a group event or meeting, you can reserve full or partial restaurant takeovers. You can also order in, with room service available from some of its top venues.

Cipriani

The Italian icon brings its carpaccio alla Cipriani, baked tagliolini, vanilla meringue, and world-famous Bellini to Wynn Plaza Shops.

Gayot writes: A nautical theme prevails, with portholes throughout (even in the restrooms) displaying a video of the ocean resembling the view from an ocean liner. Elegant touches include glossy wood pillars, terrazzo tile flooring, chrome accents, plush seating, and floor-to-ceiling windows dressed with white curtains… We highly recommend the carpaccio made from sirloin using a recipe created by Mr. Cipriani in the 1950s; eggplant Parmigiana, fried and baked and covered with tomato sauce and mozzarella and Parmigiana cheese; homemade potato gnocchi with cream and tomato sauce; and slow-roasted chicken “Alla cacciatora” cooked with onion, carrot, tomato, and white wine and served with mashed potatoes. Finish with the vanilla crème meringue, which is light and easy to enjoy after a big meal. The wine list includes 200 selections mainly from Italy, France, Spain, and the U.S.

Costa de Mare

Renowned for its seafood flown in daily from Italy’s coasts, Costa di Mare serves regional specialties amid a view of its romantic lagoon.

Zagat readers say:  A “total winner” at the Wynn, this “stunning” kitchen formerly helmed by chef Paul Bartolotta is “as good as it gets for fresh Italian seafood” that’s “flown in” from the Mediterranean and “prepared with perfection” alongside “amazing” pasta; fans agree the “expensive” tabs are “well worth it”, especially when you count “impeccable service” and a “sumptuous” setting with “wonderful” patio dining “around a glittering pool.”

Lakeside

Impeccably fresh fish, caught in Hawaiian waters, is the star of this dining room overlooking Wynn’s Lake of Dreams.

Forbes Travel Guide‘s inspector reports: Lakeside is an enchanting place for group dining — in addition to serving gourmet food family-style, the restaurant also has a private dining room seating 45 that overlooks the lake… From the modern dining room you will see the two points of inspiration — the water of the fabulous Lake of Dreams, and the open view of the kitchen, the place where the culinary catches of the sea are prepared for you… The tempura soft shell crab with chimichurri sauce and the tempura blossom filled with ricotta cheese make excellent starters. They’re secret off-the-menu dishes, but they’re available nightly.

Mizumi and Mizumi Teppanyaki

Set among exotic gardens and waterfalls, Mizumi serves pristine sushi and sashimi, robatayaki bar specialties, and modern Japanese cuisine. Dinner is theatre at Mizumi’s teppanyaki room, where chefs dazzle with their tableside cooking flair.

Conde Nast Traveler writes: Walking into Mizumi is a completely transporting experience. Inside the sanctuary of Mizumi, it’s all sleek wood and lacquer finishes, facing (through floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors) a mystical Japanese garden and koi pond with a 90-foot waterfall behind it…Mizumi has some of the most prized cuisines in Las Vegas and, frankly, the world. Chef Devin Hashimoto has an in with a prized cattle rancher in Hokkaido that sells him one of only three prized snow beef each month; they’re exponentially rarer than Kobe cattle.

Sinatra

From osso buco to spaghetti and clams, Wynn’s tribute serves modern twists on the classic Italian cooking loved by the Chairman of the Board.

Gayot reports: Located in Encore next to the Encore Tower Suites, Sinatra offers up a contemporary take on classic Italian cooking and is the only restaurant sanctioned by the Sinatra family to bear his name… The kitchen pays tribute to the Las Vegas legend, preparing dishes that are served in a space full of old-fashioned charm. A fine starter is the carpaccio di Tonno – big-eye tuna carpaccio, pickled vegetables, hard-boiled quail egg, and lemon vinaigrette. Pasta dishes include Frank’s spaghetti and clams made with Manila clams, tomato garlic broth, and imported pasta; and gnocchi enlivened with leek emulsion, Osetra caviar, and chive crème fraîche.

SW Steakhouse

Exceptional steaks, including certified Kobe, are served in a refined dining room and patio with prime views of Wynn’s Lake of Dreams.

Zagat readers say: Aces for “grilled-to-perfection” steaks and a “not-to-be-missed” view of the show on the lake, this “wonderful” chophouse at Wynn Las Vegas is “outstanding in every way” – making it a natural for “special celebrations”; overseeing the “elegant” setting is an “exceptional” crew, and though you may need to “bring your black card to support payment”, most deem it a “spectacular place to dine.”

Tableau

This chic indoor and outdoor restaurant with pool views serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch adjacent to Wynn’s Tower Suites lobby.

USA Today’s 10 Best (for breakfast) list highlights: Like all restaurants at Wynn and Encore, Tableau offers a robust vegetarian menu. Breakfast choices include apple pancakes, overnight oats, fruit, and a vegan Benedict…Tableau’s serene setting is the perfect backdrop for a menu of upscale breakfast, lunch, and brunch dishes.”

Wing Lei

The first Chinese restaurant in the U.S. to earn a Michelin star serves Cantonese, Shanghai, and Szechuan dishes in a dramatic room.

50 Best reports: This regal restaurant may be poised in the bustling Wynn resort, but it might as well be in Beijing with its Qing-inspired silks, jewel-like palette of gold and jade, and inner courtyard featuring gilded dragons and century-old pomegranate trees. The food offers a fail-safe education in Cantonese, Shanghainese, and Szechuan flavors. Alongside mainstays like potstickers and dim sum, delicacies include Chef Ming Yu’s decadent Imperial Peking duck tasting menu – with the meat served six ways. Elsewhere, Sampan-style Alaskan geoduck, Santa Barbara prawns, and Pacific spiny lobster are equally arresting. Little wonder it gained the country’s first Michelin star for Chinese food.

Casual Dining

There are more than a half dozen additional casual dining venues from burgers and wood-oven pizzas, to sweet treats and Hong Kong-style barbecue.

Groups

“The restaurants at Wynn and Encore offer exceptional group and private dining with renowned chefs who are actually in their kitchens preparing your cuisine. Some chefs lend their name to a restaurant, ours call them home. With a large variety of cuisines and atmospheres to choose from, we can help you plan a social event, client dinner, company gathering, welcome reception, or something specially created to suit your group.”
