The area is known for being more residential than the retail-heavy 1st or 8th arrondissements – this is truly the place to live like a local. The 16th is also home to the Bois du Boulogne, the 2,000+ acre forest – known as one of the ‘lungs’ of Paris due to the oxygen its woods breathe into the city. The former hunting grounds of French kings dating back to the 7th century, the forest is now home to hiking trails, ponds, and the Roland Garros tennis courts, where the French Open is held. Guests of the La Réserve Paris Apartments get exclusive access to the courts.
