With summer dead ahead, it’s the perfect time to think about chartering a superyacht. We visited with our friends at Northrop & Johnson to find out the best options. From Alaska to New England to the Mediterranean, these yachts are just a starting point, with dozens more options awaiting you.
1. Sealion
Where: Mediterranean
Length: 203′ 5″; Guests: 12; Cabins: 6; Crew 16

Designed in collaboration with the renowned designer Espen Oeino, Sealion represents a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements. Her elegant lines and simplicity make her stand out in the sea of yachts, and her interior design showcases the best designs of Candy & Candy London.
The interior design of the space features a contrast between dark elements such as Macassar ebony, black lacquer, black jet beading, and dark stained oak flooring, and lighter elements such as an off-white deck head, a silvery-white long-piled art silk carpet, and upholstery in shades of taupe and metallic silver.

The leather wall paneling’s warmth helps balance out the metallic tones. Almond gold and Perspex are also used as accents throughout, with almond gold plating on the many fittings and dividing strips and Perspex on the Schimmel Grand Piano by the aft deck doors.
The main salon and dining area are sophisticated and formal, combining dark and light elements that create a sense of elegance and refinement.

The sky lounge is spacious and comfortable, with ample lounge areas and a cinema room ideal for relaxation and entertainment. The gym on the main deck offers incredible views and is a great place to work out while enjoying the passing scenery.
The main deck features a raised king-size master suite with panoramic views, a walk-in dressing area, a spa-like Grigio Carnico en-suite with a Jacuzzi tub, and a shower. The VIP suite on the main deck and the two doubles and two convertible twins down below all have en-suite bathrooms.
2. Skyfall
Where: Mediterranean
Length: 190′; Guests: 12; Cabins: 6; Crew: 14

Skyfall’s expansive 3,707 square feet of outdoor living space include both a Jacuzzi and a plunge pool, sunbathing sun pads, and couches for socializing. Additionally, the sundeck also has a touch-and-go helipad for a stylish arrival and departure.
On the sky lounge aft, guests can enjoy alfresco meals prepared by the chef and then enjoy after-dinner drinks at the lounge space aft. An additional lounge area is found on the main deck aft. The superyacht also features a large selection of water toys that guests can enjoy off the yacht’s swim platform — if guests wish to keep a workout routine while aboard, they can work up a sweat with motivational ocean views in the beach club.

The indoor space is adorned with blends of Honduran mahogany, European maple burl, Australian Lacewood, and Wenge to give a luxurious feel. The charter yacht’s main deck aft is home to the wine cellar and custom humidors. This beautiful space is ripe for entertaining, perhaps with a lovely afternoon wine tasting.

A 60-inch flat-screen TV is perfect for evening movies or post-up at the six-person game table for a round of cards. A wheelchair-friendly elevator allows guests to easily access all three decks.
3. Sea Owl
Where: New England
Length: 87’ 10”; Guests: 8; Cabins: 5; Crew: 4

Sea Owl’s main salon is accessed from the aft deck, which features a cozy alfresco seating space that welcomes guests to relax with a morning coffee or late-night cocktail. A large sliding door leads into the salon, where guests are greeted by huge windows to either side. The 55″ TV, three plush white couches to port, and a seating area to starboard make for the coziest locale for a movie night with family and friends. Forward is the formal dining space that offers unbeatable views.
Her spacious foredeck is the prime location for outdoor relaxation. There is a huge sun pad and a seating area with a table and optional shade. SEA OWL’s extended swim platform is created once the garage door folds down to the water level. This space offers guests premium visibility to watch the action of watersports happening while at anchor.

The yacht comfortably welcomes eight guests in five well-appointed staterooms. The master suite is full-beam and located on the main deck. It can be accessed via a hallway forward of the galley. Floor-to-ceiling windows border either side of the bed. The master en-suite bathroom is spa-like, adorned in marble with double sinks and a large standing rainfall shower with a marble bench.

Four additional staterooms are found on the lower deck and can be accessed via a set of stairs. Two queen VIPs are located aft, a twin stateroom is forward to port, and a queen cabin is to starboard. All cabins feature a bedside table, reading lights, a full-length mirror and wardrobe, and a private en-suite with standing rainfall showers.
4. TCB
Where: Alaska
Length: 164’1”; Guests: 12; Cabins: 5; Crew: 9

As guests step aboard, they will be greeted by TCB’s cozy aft deck, an ideal spot for settling in, sitting back, and watching the embarkation port fade into the distance. In the mornings, the aft deck serves as the perfect locale for alfresco lounging with a morning coffee.
Guests will find the stunning open-plan main salon and formal dining area through the sliding doors. Neutral-toned furnishings complement the wood accents that adorn the walls and ceiling. The superyacht’s main salon showcases an effortless blend of natural and ambient lighting, allowing the space to feel light and airy.

The full-beam, split-level master suite is ideally suited for privacy. A unique feature of this stateroom is the intimate lounge on the lower level, perfect for taking a break from the action and unwinding in seclusion.
A large his-and-hers en-suite is accessed through the lower-level lounge and features a large Jacuzzi tub, vanity, and shower. TCB’s additional accommodations include four en-suite staterooms on the lower deck, comprised of two king-size staterooms and two twin staterooms, each with Pullmans accommodating small children.

The large L-shaped sofa invites guests to unwind after a long day on the water. Aft of the sky lounge is the alfresco dining table for 12.

Guests can make their way up to the vast sundeck for fun in the sun. On this level, an alfresco gym, a six-person Jacuzzi, and large built-in double-facing sun pads and sun loungers.
TCB’s plethora of water toys include a 38′ 2021 Scout tender, with 4 x 350 Mercury engines; a 21ft Inflatable tender; 2 x 2020 GTI 170 jet ski with blue tooth stereos; 2 x Seabobs; 2 x E-Foils; 2 x paddle boards, and 2 x kayaks.
