With winter at our doorstep, it’s the perfect time to think about chartering a superyacht. We visited with our friends at Northrop & Johnson to find out the best options. Across the Caribbean, these yachts are just a starting point, with dozens more options awaiting you.

1. Calex

The revolutionary 2022 Benetti superyacht Calex (winner of Best Layout at the 2022 World Yacht Design Trophies) features a magnificent owner’s suite with its own private exterior lounge space. Her sleek exterior design is from Giorgio Cassetta, while her award-winning interior was a collaboration between Benetti and the owner’s design team.

The interior features a mix of light and dark shades, white statuary, gleaming marble, and ivory-color furnishings, giving an overall feeling of serenity. There are rare sculptures and treasures picked up along the yacht’s travels. The main salon is designed to be a social space with a U-shaped sofa, armchairs, a full bar, a pop-up TV, and a dining table. Guests travel between the many interior decks in a glass elevator. The deck furniture also can be configured depending on requirements.

The master suite is situated on the upper deck with a private office, double bathroom, and its private foredeck. The 180-degree views can be admired while in bed. The six guest cabins, two VIPs on the main deck, two kings, and two convertible twins with Pullmans on the lower deck each offer the same chic marble ensuite bathrooms.

The layout is extremely charter-friendly, with versatile guest accommodations and many different zones for guests to enjoy depending on their mood. From the main deck aft and upper deck aft, guests can enjoy meals al fresco and entertainment surrounded by unbeatable views.

The sundeck has a dedicated workout and yoga space, a Jacuzzi, and plenty of space to recline. Her bridge deck has an outdoor area with a lounge and bar. There is also a hammam and an array of water toys.

The Cheoy Lee explorer yacht Avalon features unique amenities, from her extensive collection of water toys to her onboard library and cinema. The master suite, located on the bridge deck, offers an ensuite bath with a steam shower and an open-air viewing lounge. The additional staterooms are located on the lower deck and are comprised of a king VIP, an additional king-bed stateroom, a twin stateroom, and a single bed located off the gym.

It is the second hull of Cheoy Lee’s Marco Polo series and was designed by the renowned Ron Holland, featuring a steel hull with a composite superstructure and a bulbous bow. The Zero-Speed stabilizers provide comfort at anchor and in rough seas.

Its modern interior styling is enhanced by built-in furnishings of Macassar ebony, adding a dramatic look with its striped appearance and gloss finish. The walnut floating floors provide sound and vibration control, ensuring a quieter cruising experience.

Expansive windows enhance the views of the yacht’s cruising grounds from the interior and allow a steady influx of natural light with extensive interior spaces for relaxing, entertaining, and socializing.

Avalon’s toys include a 40’ inflatable swim platform extension, jellyfish pool, floating cabana, and Jet Ski dock.

3. King Baby

Following her recent multi-million-dollar, King Baby maintains her rock ‘n’ roll identity. Both the exterior and interior were designed by the renowned Evan K. Marshall, who used aesthetic themes to create a contemporary luxury yacht experience. Every piece of fabric onboard was replaced and updated, including the replacement of her outside cushions on the sofas and chairs with new foam and covers.

This tri-deck yacht is both tall and very stable with a four-fin “At Rest” stabilizer system that works both at anchor and underway. Her exterior spaces are expansive and well-suited for entertaining and socializing. The main deck aft has a covered dining area, as does the upper deck, with a variety of seating spaces. This area is air-conditioned as well. Forward on the upper deck are built-in seating and sun pads. The sundeck has a Jacuzzi with a three-tier cascading waterfall and swim-up bar, a variety of seating areas, three TVs, and a large onyx bar.

The rock ‘n’ roll-inspired interior is unlike that of any other yacht. From Keith Richards’ doors to custom coffee tables to vintage hood ornaments, guitars used as art, and other impressive decorative, the indoor spaces are comfortable, with an edge of modern seduction. The owners spent months curating classic rock photography, which is showcased throughout the yacht.

King Baby has five luxurious staterooms. The main deck is home to the large full-beam master with a his-and-hers ensuite bathroom with both a bathtub and shower. Three large king staterooms below the deck all have ensuite bathrooms. There is also a spacious twin cabin below the deck.

4. Alpha Waves

The 2023 Benetti Oasis Alpha Waves boasts many features, including a beach club and customizations like an elevator going from her main salon all the way to her sundeck. The yacht’s stern area creates an alfresco lounge right on the sea that guests can easily access from the main salon down the steps leading to the space.

Each cabin on Alpha Waves is outfitted in the highest quality linens, furnishings, and finishes. Her interior designs were penned by the New York-based firm Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture, which has made its debut in yachting, bringing fresh ideas and revolutionized design solutions. The expansive main deck owner’s suite features a king-size bed with a sitting area. Additional accommodations include two king-size VIPs and two twin cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms.

Her main salon offers circular seated sofas for a cool, modern vibe that ties in with the bar situated forward. The space is dedicated to guest entertainment and acts as a private upscale lounge onboard. The wellness/gym area forward allows guests to take a break from sunbathing.

Aft of the main salon is the beach club featuring fold-down terraces right on the water and a swimming pool. The sky lounge is a spacious area for entertaining with interior and exterior spaces to explore. Her sundeck features plenty of sun pads, an alfresco dining table for 10, a bar, and a dedicated lounging area.

5. Corazon

What: 112 feet; 10 Guests; 5 Cabins: 6 Crew

Sunseeker-built Corazon is sleek and dynamic on the outside, while the interior creates a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The main salon and dining area feature an open-plan layout. The conversation area offers two large silver/grey couches, perfect for lounging and enjoying entertainment from the pop-up TV. The formal dining area, located forward, provides seating for up to 10 guests.

The split-level master stateroom is situated forward on the main deck and features a centralized walk-around king-size bed with 270-degree windows. The ensuite bathroom is accessed via stairs and offers an oversized double sink, counter space, and a standing shower. The stateroom also includes a large walk-in wardrobe and plenty of storage space.

Four additional staterooms are located on the lower deck, accessed via a flight of stairs amidship. Two VIP staterooms with queen beds are situated aft, while the forward staterooms offer convertible twin beds that can create small king beds. Each stateroom is equipped with an ensuite bathroom featuring a standing shower with a rainfall showerhead.

Guests love Corazon’s flybridge, a spacious area offering an alfresco dining table under a retractable awning, with additional seating for cocktails and canapés. Aft, guests can relax in the Jacuzzi surrounded by sun pads, providing a perfect setting for entertainment and relaxation. The foredeck hosts a spacious sun pad. The extended swim platform serves as a beach club.
