1. One&Only Palmilla

Forbes Travel Guide reports, “One&Only Palmilla sits on 55 acres and offers 174 guest rooms, including its signature four-bedroom Villa Cortez, where celebrities like Jennifer Aniston have overnighted in the more than 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. The property’s other highlights include a 20,000-square-foot spa and four show-stopping restaurants. When you venture outdoors, the options become even more impressive. You can explore the rugged landscape on a 4×4, quadbike or horse. The resort also has one of the few swimmable beaches in the region. Get acquainted with the crystal-clear waters with a casual dip, a sunset yacht charter, a scuba adventure or a whale-watching trip. But no matter what you decide to do with your afternoon, unwind after it all with a drink at Agua Bar.”

2. Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Forbes Travel Guide writes, “Since its opening in 2019, Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve — the brand’s first such concept in Mexico — has drawn a loyal crowd of luxury hotel devotees to Los Cabos, a destination known for its abundance of big-name hotels. There many reasons why they might flock to Zadún. It could be because every spacious room comes with a plunge pool and deck where you will want to spend lazy days gazing at the beach. Maybe it’s the attentive service — every room comes with a butler. Or perhaps it’s the spa, a haven of tranquility. Whichever the reason, Zadún manages to maintain its boutique identity and personalized service without sacrificing polish or flair, resulting in a 115-room and suite hotel that is as well suited to families looking for an active escape as it is to couples craving peace, quiet and well-deserved relaxation along the Sea of Cortez.”

3. Viceroy Los Cabos

Conde Nast Traveler says, “Opened as Mar Adentro, Viceroy has taken over this stunning Miguel Ángel Aragonés-designed resort that’s just minutes from town (San José del Cabo). Built from glass and concrete, the hotel has seven different buildings for guest rooms, all offering unbroken views of the ocean beyond.”

Travel + Leisure writes, “Its bright white buildings starkly contrast the surrounding brown beige and otherwise beachy surroundings, and upon entering Viceroy, its unique design is only magnified. Tall white buildings are surrounded by bright blue water, and, in the center of the resort is The Nest, a large, curved structure made of branch-like material that houses one of the hotel’s many restaurants. Nearly every angle presents a new photo opp, which many guests take advantage of. It’s, without a doubt, uniquely designed and unlike any other resort I’ve visited.”

The 119-room property is built directly into the side of Pedregal Mountain, ensuring that every guest enjoys dramatic ocean views. With two signature restaurants — the cliffside El Farallon and the breakfast-and-dinner Don Manuel’s — as well as a pool bar/seafood restaurant Crudo, casual lunch spot Beach Club with Pacific panoramas and a champagne terrace, there’s no need to leave the resort at mealtime. 6. Four Seasons Resort Cabo San Lucas

Conde Nast Traveler writes, “The whole property feels a bit like an amphitheater with the ocean as center stage. And while there are indeed echoes of traditional architecture, especially on the entrance side of the property, as you move through the hotel and toward the water, the design and decor are completely contemporary. The overall design and the use of textures and materials throughout the property, courtesy of the New York City-based firm Meyer Davis and global hospitality design studio EDG, is seriously impressive and I left with a design brief for some future dream house I’ve started building in my mind–the tiles alone made me rethink my relationship with color and pattern. This is a very chic property, but it is also one that is comfortable in its own skin–it offers approachable and welcoming luxury; it’s refreshing to see both a modern aesthetic and approach to hospitality that doesn’t skew cold.”
