A Look Inside the Equinox Hotel, Hudson Yards, New York City

Recently SmartFlyer travel advisor Amanda Poses stayed at the new Equinox Hotels Hudson Yards. Part of the $25 billion development on Manhattan’s West Side, the most expensive real estate project in U.S. history, is helping once again shift the city’s epicenter of new and hot.

Below is her report with additional information about the suites.

While this is a city hotel, it could truly be considered a destination in itself…a literal adult playground. There is so much to do both within the property and in the surrounding area, a brand new bustling neighborhood in Manhattan with ample retail and restaurant options.

The motto, “It’s not fitness, it’s life” has grounded Equinox – and fueled a cultural movement – for more than 25 years. The introduction of the first Equinox Hotel right in Hudson Yards is a true culmination of this brand promise that will redefine travel as the world knows it.

Through this project, Equinox Hotels has obsessively pursued their enduring mission of life maximization, in this case, in the heart of New York City’s newly formed cultural crucible.

From the moment you arrive until the second you depart, you’ll be infatuated with this hotel. The team here is outfitted in head-to-toe white which creates a fun contrast against the black walls and moody lighting.

Check-in is seamless and done against a backdrop that showcases all the incredible fitness programming you can take advantage of as a ‘member’ of the adjoining fitness club (though that word barely does this fitness playground justice!).

Once you’re settled into your room, though, good luck convincing yourself to leave; this place was designed to take your time for maximum enjoyment.

The luxury experience is redefined here as a seamless extension of a life well-lived, elevating fitness, culture, and community for those who rest and play as hard as they work. It’s sexy, trendy and just overall, fabulous.

Accommodations

Designed with your performance and regeneration in mind, every room is an oasis: dark, quiet, and cool. Accommodations are modern and sleek with all the most up-to-date technology.

And prepare yourself for the most incredible mini-bar (which goes well beyond alcohol) you’ve ever seen including highly curated items like face masks, clean eats, yoga accessories and even massage essentials. Plus, the EQX Regenerative Toolkit provides workout clothing in case you forgot yours so that guests can take advantage of the in-room rituals guide to get moving in the morning or to promote a more restful night’s sleep.

And about that sleep…the difference is in the details, borrowed from residential living at its best, including total soundproofing, next-generation blackout blinds and integrated technology for effortless personalization.

The proprietary sleep system includes mattresses handcrafted from natural materials. Free of metal springs, they alternate more supportive layers with more elastic ones to adapt perfectly to your unique shape and form. Guests’ rest is optimized as this king-sized bed is layered with temperature-regulating natural fibers. Oh, and don’t forget to get cozy in one of the hooded sweatshirt-material robes!

Note all suites feature 10-foot high floor to ceiling windows, clinical-grade filtered air (MERV 15), filtered water (MICRON 10), and acoustically isolated guest rooms (STC 55)
