Villa vacations are coming into their own. More popular than ever, more travelers are booking villas for multiple weeks and months, in essence relocating for a change of pace.
They are also colliding with the trend is for multi-family travel bubbles. That’s two families traveling together, enabling kids to both home school and engage in a variety of activities.
In this issue, we take a look at Bubbling in Los Cabos where Elegant Mexico offers several residences that are adjacent to each other. The convenient set-up enables families to share experiences, yet still have the same privacy as when they are at home.

Here’s what you can do in Los Cabos. As I said, you might want to stay a month, or three!
ATVs

If you love the feeling of the wind in your hair and the hum of the engine beneath you, this ATV tour is the perfect way to experience the lower Baja Peninsula, which is world renowned for its picturesque off road landscape. There is nothing quite as exhilarating as exploring the back country wilds on an all terrain vehicle.
You will start the tour 25 miles north of Cabo San Lucas, where you will be amazed by the diverse terrain which offers scenic canyons, dry riverbeds and secluded beaches. Isolated from the major tourist areas, Playa Migriño offers quiet solitude and untainted natural beauty that will have you feeling refreshed and relaxed in no time. You can spend your time at Playa Migriño riding your ATV around the soft white sand dunes, walking along the pristine shore or even whale watching if you are touring between January and March.
Horseback Riding

Riders of all experience levels can be accommodated on well-trained, healthy horses, which is one of the best ways to experience Baja. Western saddles are used and each rider receives personal attention in horse selection according to experience, stirrup adjustment and a brief lesson before leaving with a radio equipped guide. Rides to the hills of Cabo Real to see the Great Thorn Forest or along a beautiful beach are great for beginners. For the equestrians in your bubble, pass through the Arroyo San Carlos or Venado Blanco viewing awe inspiring rock formations and narrow canyons.

Fishing
Ranked among the top five fishing destinations on the planet, Los Cabos holds the title as the “Marlin Capital of the World.” The destination’s azure waters entice black, blue and striped marlin that weigh in as big as 1,000 pounds. Marlin is the number one fish in Los Cabos because it is present throughout the year, with peak months being May, June, December and January. However, recent records show that in summer months the catch per boat varies from one to ten fish in a single day. Apart from marlin, you will also encounter sailfish, dorado, roosterfish, shark, snapper, swordfish, wahoo and yellowfin tuna in the waters of the Sea of Cortez.
Kayaking

Los Cabos is a kayaker’s paradise. With pristine waters, abundant sea life, dramatic coastal scenery and secret coves and beaches to explore, it’s an experience unlike any other. In Cabo San Lucas, you can rent a kayak along Médano Beach and set out for Land’s End where you can view the iconic arch, enjoy watching the playful sea lions and admire frigate birds soaring overhead. A stop at Lover’s beach gives you opportunity to rest and walk along the rock formations reaching the Pacific side of the beach.
As an alternative, you can engage on kayak excursions like the Two Bay Crusade. Santa Maria and Chileno are the best bays in Cabo for swimming and snorkeling. Santa Maria is surrounded by uneven cliffs that drop into the water and you might see many species of tropical fish, as well as gorgonians lining the reef walls. East of Santa Maria is Chileno Bay, where tidal pools towards the eastern bluff are wonderful to explore. You will take a transparent kayak from Santa Maria to Chileno and enjoy a protected finger reef, teeming with tropical fish, eels, starfish and urchins in calm shallow waters.
Land’s End Tour

View the Beauty of Land’s End from above and below sea level. Relax in the air-conditioned comfort of Cabo’s only semi-submersible submarine, the 60-foot, 45- passenger Nautilus ll will be reserved exclusively for your bubble. You will board and depart directly from the Cabo San Lucas marina. During this excursion you will experience the incredible underwater world of the Sea of Cortez. This includes coming face to face with various fish, eels and rays and the on-board fish finder will help identify the thousands of fish you encounter. You will also get to ride on the top deck and observe the beauty of Land’s End as you pass by Lover’s Beach, Pelican Rock, the Sea Lion Colony and the famous arch. Professional guides will teach you the history of Cabo San Lucas and the Sea of Cortez.
Scuba Diving

The bay of Cabo San Lucas encompasses several unique dive sites and was declared the second Underwater National Marine Park, after Cozumel.
Pelican Rock – On the edge of the Submarine Canyon that forms San Lucas Bay, it allows for a wall dive to small sandfalls at around 90 feet. You will find large congregations of big and small tropical fishes and slopes covered with gorgonians, as well as graceful sea fans.
Neptune’s Finger – 60′ to 100‘ diving on a wall that drops 3000′ down in the Bay of San Lucas. Thick with gorgonians and sea fans, octopus, abundant tropical fishes, schools of barracuda, it is home to the largest of the two famous sandfalls beginning at 100′.
Land’s End – This unique dive site combines the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, so expect strong currents and thermals. Look for sea lions, turtles, but also pelagics such as whale sharks and mantas are spotted in this area. Also moray eels, octopus and tropical fish will join you on your adventure. A shipwreck is located southeast of the rock.
Snorkeling

Embark on a private cruise along the Land’s End tip of the Baja Peninsula and Sea of Cortez coast to one of the beautiful bays perfect for a snorkeling excursion. Discover the underwater world, Snorkel through living coral reefs, schools of fish, rays, and all kind of marine life. As you’re taking in the spectacular scenery and sipping on a beverage from the open bar, the necessary equipment will be provided to all participants to enjoy this experience. Jetpack

The Jetpack is designed for safety, stability, ease-of-use, and precise and effortless flight controls. Learn to fly, turn, hover and how to walk on water in as little as six minutes on the water. Enjoy 20 to 30 minutes of flight training with a certified instructor. The instructor controls the throttle remotely and communicates through a headset to your helmet.
Magic Todo Santos

Here’s a live history lesson. Explore this quaint turn-of-the-century sugar cane milling town that has slowly turned into a charming artist’s sanctuary. A modern-day oasis, the town overlooks a verdant palm grove, brackish streams and the twinkling ocean in the distance, but the real sights are right in its dusty streets. Visit the regional anthropological museum, browsing the galleries of Mexican curious and make a stop at the illustrious Hotel California. Then meet back and have lunch in one of the typical restaurants that will be awaiting you. Afterwards you will have time to do a little shopping before you return to your private residence.
Where to Stay
