This week, we visit Brazil’s biggest city, São Paulo, where the top suites are quite varied and impressive.
1. Palácio Tangará, Oetker Collection
2. Rosewood São Paulo
3. Hotel Fasano São Paulo
4. Hotel Unique
5. Emiliano São Paulo
1. Palácio Tangará, Oetker Collection

Inspectors from Forbes Travel Guide writes, “Palácio Tangará’s own landscape designer, Sergio Santana, was able to masterfully integrate the hotel’s modern facilities into the lush greenery and clear lagoons of the existing park, which were already home to a vast array of tropical plants and exotic bird species that you can view from the comfort of your sumptuous room. When you can pull yourself away from the verdant surroundings, visit Tangará Jean-Georges, world-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s first restaurant in South America, for cuisine with a Brazilian slant. Or relax in the hotel’s Flora Spa, helmed by Sisley — get a facial, a specialty of the French skincare brand. No matter what you choose, you’ll find that Palacio Tangará is truly an urban oasis.”

The Telegraph adds, “This converted millionaire’s mansion in a forested park of the well-to-do Morumbi neighborhood feels like a restful, rural retreat despite being in traffic-choked metropolitan São Paulo. Experience destination dining, Neoclassical style, and astounding service.”
The Grand Suite

The 3,002 sq. ft. Grand Suite features multiple separate living spaces and a large dining room accommodating 14 for private dining. The suite opens onto a panoramic 2,690 sq. ft. terrace. There is a master bedroom with a master bathroom and a mirrored walk-in closet.

2. Rosewood São Paulo

Conde Nast Traveler writes, “A month after opening, the new Rosewood São Paulo is already one of the city’s hottest destinations—the lobby restaurant and bar are buzzing every night of the week with Brazilian models and athletes and well-heeled entrepreneurs, and who can blame them? The striking Philippe Starck-designed interiors, tree-shrouded Jean Nouvel-designed tower, and the touch of nearly one hundred artists make this hotel a landmark first in the city.”

Michelin Guides adds, “Rosewood hotels are always luxurious, but rarely are they architectural statements on the level of the Rosewood Sao Paulo. A historic mid-century maternity hospital forms its basis, but it’s no simple restoration: the interiors are by Philippe Starck, who doesn’t do retro, and a new tower by architect Jean Nouvel, clad entirely in overlapping garden trellises, adds a very modern counterpoint. There’s an adults-only rooftop pool and bar, as well as a dedicated kids’ program; four dining venues span the range from light fare in the garden courtyard to an upscale South American menu at Taraz.”
Premier Suite

The 1,400 sq. ft. Premier Suite features views of the Bela Vista hill down to the city center. There is a king-size bedroom, a living room, and a dining area.

3. Hotel Fasano São Paulo

The Telegraph reports, “With its Milan-meets-Manhattan sense of style and its prime position at the heart of São Paulo’s exclusive Jardins neighborhoods, Rogerio Fasano’s flagship tower-block hotel has been the city’s luxury place-to-stay since it opened.”

Forbes Travel Guide adds, “Expect dapper gents and coiffured ladies lounging in antique leather armchairs and sipping cocktails in the lobby of Hotel Fasano São Paulo. And that’s exactly what the exclusive luxury hotel’s designers were gunning for when they tucked the reception desk discreetly away out of sight, making the Lobby Bar the focal point when you walk in the front door.”
Two-Bedroom Suites

Hotel Fasano’s 1,400 sq. ft. Two-bedroom suites feature a large living room with a dining area and two closets. The king-size beds come with 500 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and goose-down pillows. Linen curtains, Persian Kilims rugs, paintings with Venetian frames, and Murano vases echo the Fasano family’s Italian tradition, white marble bathrooms with separate hot tubs, and Ipanema sandals.

4. Hotel Unique

The Telegraph says, “Is it a slice of watermelon? Or a ship run aground? The Unique is a hotel designed to be like no other in looks but is up there with the best in terms of comfort and service. Its rooftop bar is well-known throughout the city, drawing queues of partygoers at the weekend.”

Forbes Travel Guide notes, “Far from being gimmicky, however, the luxury hotel strikes a balance between stylish and eccentric — floor-to-ceiling glass walls in the lobby are cut through with 10-foot rusting metal slabs, the backlit bottle-lined shelves of the lobby bar rise almost 20 feet up a sloping wall, and the large Campana Brothers-designed royal blue sofa invites guests to lounge about. Attention to detail is a hallmark of the service, too, with champagne at check-in, fresh coconuts by the bedside in the evening, and a multilingual staff happy to arrange anything from a massage to a tour of the city.”
Oasis Suite

Located on the 7th floor, the 3,552 sq. ft. Presidential Suite features a separate living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and sundeck with a jacuzzi. It is well-suited for meetings, cocktail parties, dinners, and small weddings in a fully customizable space, overlooking the wooded Jardins neighborhood and the Ibirapuera Park, with a 180º view of the city directly from the second floor.

5. Emiliano São Paulo

The Telegraph says, “Once you are gathered up in the soothing embrace of The Emiliano, you’ll wish it could hold you there forever. Effortlessly calm and oh-so-comfortable with an emphasis on discretion, Brazilian design, and second-to-none service, making it easily one of São Paulo’s best hotels.”
Forbes Travel Guide adds, “You won’t find a pool or much in the way of outside space here, but you will find an excellent spa, a fitness center, a good restaurant, and a business center. This boutique hotel in the fashionable Jardins district is understandably popular with the jet set, in-town-for-business crowd.”
Cube Suite

The 1,500 sq. ft. Cube Suite gives you a swimming pool, living room, office, pantry, toilet, and luggage room. Cube-shaped on the roof, it has a 180-degree view of the city.
