This week we go back to our friends at SmartFlyer for an on-location review of the much-talked-about Amanyara, Aman Resorts’ outpost in Turks & Caicos.
Giving us the tour is New Jersey native Taylor Methfessel. She moved to New York City in 2010 to attend New York University. There, she studied Cultural Aesthetics and Travel in addition to pursuing a minor in Italian. Taylor has been traveling extensively since a young age; her early travels brought her to the western part of the United States and the Caribbean while her recent travels have been primarily within Europe.
Taylor previously lived in Florence and it was during her time in Italy that she developed a deep passion for the country and the culture. This week she takes us to the Caribbean for a dose of high luxury.
Amanyara sits in the heart of an 18,000-acre nature reserve on the North West Point and features a half-mile private white sand beach. The stand-alone Pavilions dot the rocky coast of the resort, as well as offering lovely lagoon views and some with interior gardens and private pools.

Villas also offer a variety of ocean and lagoon views, with five of the villas sitting directly on the beach. The resort offers many complimentary daily activities as well as non-motorized sports on the beach, including snorkel tours to a reef off the property, and have a year-round educational children’s program, welcoming families to the resort.

The vibe is secluded and private, appealing to those who want to feel like they are a world away. Intimate, chic, romantic, and quiet are all words that come to mind. Taylor Methfessel
Who’s it for? The property is great for honeymooners, couples, and families. The property is absolutely child-friendly and kids are greeted with open arms and warm smiles. Amanyara offers year-round activities and educational camp programs for children operated by Miami’s Frost Science Museum during select times of the year.

In-room amenities are also tailored for families and inclusive of California baby products, a changing area, a crib with a stuffed friend, and a diaper genie to make things even more pleasant. Kids’ meals were delicious and fresh. At night, babysitting services are offered.
Best of all, its location is less than 20 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from Grace Bay on the Northwest point of the island
