Chile’s Tierra Hotels announced reopening dates coinciding with the planned opening of Chile’s borders. The luxury lodges are located in Patagonia, Atacama, and the Island of Chiloe.
Tierra Patagonia has been named to Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best list since 2017. Tierra Chiloé was ranked fourth on Brides magazine’s list of most romantic hotels. Tierra Atacama and its two sisters were all listed on Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards in 2019 and 2020.
The hotels each offer tailor-made excursions and active adventures. Included is hiking and trekking the Torres del Paine in Patagonia, experiencing the Altiplano lagoons in the Atacama, or diving for razor clams in Chiloé, to award-winning gastronomy and wellness.
Tierra Atacama
Tierra Atacama reopens Sept. 3 (pictured above). The small, family-friendly hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, a village oasis at the heart of the desert in northern Chile, blends ancient heritage with contemporary design.
All-inclusive Atacama adventures include dining and wellness facilities. Excursions in the Atacama Desert include hiking tours, desert bike rides, horseback adventures, and more.
After hiking through Moon Valley, guests can return to the Uma Spa for a Reiki & Crystal Massage or choose the Saddle & Soak, rounding off a long day on horseback with an immersion in the alfresco hot tub.
Tierra Patagonia

Tierra Patagonia reopens Oct. 1. The boutique hotel in Torres del Paine National Park is a place where couples, solo travelers, and families alike can enjoy endless pampering and thrilling adventures.
From the moment guests arrive and gaze across Torres del Paine National Park, the beauty of the region speaks for itself, energizing all who visit.
No Patagonia adventure would be complete without trekking the peaks of Torres del Paine, visiting a traditional estancia on horseback, or taking a scenic drive to the best lookout points.
Tierra Patagonia combines tasty cuisine, wellness facilities, and eco-awareness, which is all a part of their all-inclusive program.
The mountain ranges and abundant wildlife make this lodge a perfect adventure outdoor destination. The hotel offers a full range of excursions within and around Torres del Paine National Park including hiking, biking, and more.
When guests want to relax, Uma Spa is the perfect heated, indoor pool, complete with hydro-massage and water jets, all encased in a glass-paneled sanctuary, offering views of the wild surroundings.
Tierra Chiloe

Tierra Chiloe is set to reopen on Oct. 30. The retreat is located amidst rolling green hills with sea views. During all-inclusive stays, Tierra’s staff and guides are there on hand to help uncover the somewhat isolated world of Chiloé Island, ensuring that travelers’ presence – as is the destination’s – is also in harmony.
Tierra Chiloé immerses guests in the best of the archipelago, which is awash in verdant pastures, dramatic coastline, and scenic clifftops.
Guests can experience a guided wellness program consisting of forest bathing in the endemic rainforests on the island followed by spa treatments using local ancient ingredients like Maqui, which is a tree indigenous to the sub-Antarctic forests of Chile and Argentina.
