Part of the 1,100 Baha Mar resort complex, Rosewood Baha Mar, with its British Colonial decor, is the flagship of the three hotels. There is a Grand Hyatt and SLS.Â

In the Rosewood itself, you have your own resort area, with two pools, plentiful loungers, and daybeds, surrounded with trees, flowers, and lush plantings, making it hard to imagine this is all still relatively new.
You also have a private stretch of beach, your own gym, and spa, although again, you have the run of the entire Baha Mar.
Accommodations from one-bedroom suites and up all have butlers.

The hotel has its own meeting and banqueting facilities, and it is a popular venue for board meetings.
While many hotels have been cutting back post-Covid, Rosewood continues with twice-daily housekeeping.
Accommodations
As you would imagine, there are a variety of oversize villas and signature suites, so you have no shortage of options.
Oceanside Six-Bedroom Villa

The 6,200 sq. ft. Oceanside Six-Bedroom Villa sits on Cable Beach with direct access to the beach. You have a private infinity pool and an expansive private deck with a grill and dining area. The deck is shared by two separate houses, making it perfect for family or friend groups. Each has a master bedroom and two additional bedrooms, a living and dining room, and a full kitchen.
Penthouse Suite

The 2,668 sq. ft. Penthouse Suite features three ensuite bedrooms plus a guest toilet. The 11th-floor suite offers a huge landscaped outdoor living space with a private plunge pool, fire pit, and multiple seating areas with ocean views. Inside, there is a separate living and dining area.
Rosewood Suite

Located on the 9th floor, the 1,940 sq. ft. Rosewood Suite offers an oversized living room, dining room, and full kitchen provide. Both master and second bedrooms come with king beds, and the expansive outdoor living space enjoys stunning views of the sea.
Premier Ocean View Grand Suites

This 1,455 sq. ft. Premier Ocean View Grand Suites are located on floors 6 through 9. Each features a living room that transitions to a large dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. A full marble bathroom features double vanities, a separate shower, and oversized soaking tub, plus a powder room. A 275 sq. ft. balcony provides outdoor living space with full views of the ocean.
Dining and Bars
Café Boulud
I ate here during my stay. I’m always a bit skeptical of these outpost restaurants, but Cafe Boulud matched the same high standards I recall from my many dinners at Daniel when I was living in New York. Here the great chef mixes classical French dishes with the seasonality of local Caribbean ingredients. There is an expansive outdoor patio, and we enjoyed a table in what felt a bit like a secret garden. Service and food were both exemplary.
Costa

Costa is billed as the flavors of Mexico with local Bahamian requests. This was a reservation because I waited too long on a Friday night, but my butler at the Grand Hyatt secured Costa, and I am glad she did. The indoor space is far less interesting than outdoor wood cabanas surrounded by a series of Koi ponds. The food was quite good, including tableside preparations; it’s a good venue for families, friends groups, as well as couples.
The Library

The Library serves breakfast, light bites throughout the day, and a formal afternoon tea. There is an extensive selection of Bahamian teas, and it’s a nice space to have a coffee and catch up on emails.
Manor Bar

The hotel’s bar has a dark, colonial vibe and offers a limited menu of flatbreads, sliders, lobster fritters, and so forth. It’s a nice place for a quiet drink after dinner if you don’t feel like the action, just through the adjacent hallway to the Baha Mar Casino.
Pools and Beaches
Rosewood Baha Mar has its own pools and private beach if you want to avoid the bustle of Baha Mar. There are beachside daybeds for a supplemental charge that includes a bottle of prosecco, a fruit plate, and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. However, when I was there, none of the pool or beach areas were crowded.

The Grand Hyatt has a half dozen separate and connected pool areas, each with various seating from recliners to daybeds. There are both bars and servers and activities, such as cliff jumping.
The Cable Beach front features white sand, with most guests staying directly in front of the hotel. If you walk about 20 yards to the other side of the pier, you will find space mostly for yourself.
Reserve and Rosewood guests have a private pool and bar area at the Grand Hyatt accessible from a corridor off the casino.
There’s also the Baha Bay Beach Club, which requires reserving loungers, daybeds, or a cabana and a minimum food and beverage spend. It offers an infinity pool with views out to the resort’s pier with a beach directly in front of you.
Spa and Fitness
Sense is Rosewood’s signature spa, and there is also a 24/7 gym with all the basic machines.Â

If you want bigger and more, the 30,000-square-foot ESPA, about a 10-minute walk away, includes 12 treatment rooms. There are dozens of treatments ranging from 20 minutes to two hours. There is also an extensive gym with cardiac and weight machines, including free weights. Personal trainers are available. There is a slate of fitness classes from yoga to Pilates and focus sessions on glutes and abs.
Baha Mar Casino
The largest casino in the Bahamas offers 19 live tables offering 18 different games, including blackjack, baccarat, craps, and roulette with Vegas rules and high-limit betting. There are 1,100 of the latest slot machines, and you can also wager and watch from a diverse betting menu of sports. If you want to try your luck by the pool, there is The Pavilion located within the Baha Bay luxury waterpark.
Golf
The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, Royal Blue, was ranked #1 on Golfweek’s Best of 2022 list. Its only criticism was, “With a lack of drawbacks — perhaps the only one I can even muster is a lack of genuine beachfront views — there’s plenty to look forward to, for certain.” For those of you who like to use your driver, the course can play up to 7,189 yards with multiple tee-box options.
Activities
Baha Bay is the resort’s own 15-acre water park, which includes a variety of water slides, a wave pool, a flow rider, and places to eat. Depending on where you are staying and what level of accommodations, entry may be included. It is also a venue for group events and a great place to host evening parties.
